Last night between about 1am and 8am (!) CET, the server running calcudoku.org
was under very high load (for people who know about load numbers: at times it
went above 500 (!)).

The server runs about 200 other sites [sad] , which means that if one site is "misbehaving"
it affects all others. I'm helping the system administrator of the site to try and find
the culprit...

Apparently, the most likely cause actually was the "leap second"
(as was already suggested by someone in an e-mail)

!

For the technically inclined, here's a good discussion of the issue:

Patrick: I solved a 6x6 timed puzzle after doing a number of 4x4's and a 5x5......the site showed my time as the last one to solve it and as I looked at it, it was replaced with the next solver.....I then went in to the listof solved 6x6's and could not find my time and then went back to the main page and found I had been logged off.......what happened??

For today the logs are showing that you did two 6x6 timed puzzles,
one started at 8.47 CET and not finished,
and one started at 9.02 CET and finished in 4 min 18.250 seconds.

Does this correspond with that you did?

Wrt. to being logged out: I'm not sure what's causing that yet :-(
