Just now I made the colours much paler,
more evenly distributed,
and randomly changing at every page load.

The option to turn them off still to do... :-)

That's odd, you should be able to access the old ones just like the other puzzles (using the "date chooser", by clicking on the date). Does anyone else have this problem? Patrick

Another thing that might be nice (if you don't think it's cheating) would be to use a unique color for all the one-celled cages.

I simply use a red pen (on a print out) to outline each 3x3 cage......maybe you could try that without all those colours
