Anyway, I managed to complete today's 9x9, but still haven't finalised my speech! Not sure what this says about my priorities!

Clearly your priorities are just fine. It would be impossible to concentrate on your speech knowing that 9x9 was awaiting!

I agree with Frederick. Your priorities are just fine.

A suggestion: Don't start drinking til AFTER the speech.

Here's an idea... try saying something like an infinity-by-infinity twin puzzle... [thumbsup] Something about infinite complexity and yet they are a perfect match for each other.
I have no experience with this kind of thing...
Well congratulations anyway! It must be quite the occasion.

Thanks everyone. I've drafted my speech and I'm going to do a dummy run in the morning to get some feedback. I think it's about the right length and hopefully I won't embarrass my daughter too intensely. The suggestion about not drinking until after the speech is a good one, but I might modify it a bit by saying I won't drink much until after the speech. I will aim to keep my wits about me.

And I even managed to submit a book puzzle today (well, yesterday if you're on CET). Only 5 to go and I'll have completed all the Advanced Puzzles.
