This was the lamest of "bugs": the UPDATE command that resets the scores was written as UDPATE ... [glare]

edit: the totals should be reset now.

edit 2: and now I'm wondering where this 10 point difference comes from: [scared]

I think the ten point difference is due to a number of people (myself included) not yet having solved today’s difficult 9*9. I’m finding it quite tricky and I may have to go back to square 1 to see where I misstepped.

You have sympathy and my empathy. For me, that happened in both 2020 and 2021. I didn't get the 2 pt sudoku done on a single day, each year.

One year was preventable, an accident. Due to that accident. I have become obsessive about checking the YTD stats.

This obsession with keeping a perfect record for the year can be quite stressful at times. Last night, I found myself with the Killer Sudoku to complete and just over ten minutes to go, having already gone down several blind alleys.

I made a final attempt to solve it and stopped looking at the clock. I was convinced that I would be too late by the time I solved it, but was surprised to see that I was awarded the 9 points. I subsequently checked to see what time it was when I submitted the puzzle and it was at 10 seconds to midnight, CET. Whew!

I know how you feel. I have decided to keep my troubles an anxieties to myself as I am afraid if I write of it I might jinx myself.

Last year, at about this time of year, out internet went out. it was gong to take 2 - 4 days to fix it. UGH.
I could do easy puzzles by using the phone, but I either had to go to the library, or my daughter's home to finish the dailies.
We travel, and the day of travel can be challenge.

This year there is a total solar eclipse in North America.
