(somewhat off-topic:) The reason I needed to explore in depth a tine of a fork in today's 10x10 (or rather a branch on the tree of possibilities and two twigs on that branch, the latter of which turned out to lead to the correct solution) is that I found this puzzle fiendishly difficult – far more so than the last 12x12! I'm amazed that so many people managed to solve it, but then the London Chess Classic is over so maybe Kramnik et al have descended on calcudoku.org for a bit of post-tournament puzzling…

Sometimes it may be one trick you're missing that makes a puzzle suddenly
much easier.

Yes, I upped the level because of that.
Seriously, I didn't know this was on! Not far from where I live, no less..
