Yes, it is fairly difficult. And it can be solved without brute force.

Not too late at all, this takes a lot of time to produce.

For the patterned puzzles, for example, I typically generate at least 10 puzzles,
then pick a single one to include in the book [blink]

I have been trying to solve this on and off for the past few days. I’ve spent loads of time on it and I remain stumped. [confused] So I would definitely class it as difficult! [scared]

Has anyone actually solved it?

Spent another hour or so on it today. Still stumped! [confused]

I think I must have a blind spot that’s causing this. I’m determined to persevere at this stage, but I would love to know whether anyone has managed to solve it.
