Judging from number of puzzles solved, the number of puzzlers appears to have jumped radically in the last two days. Any reason for this phenomenon?

Yes, why is there a sudden jump of users? clm said in another thread it was due to the paper, but I don't really see how it's connected (unless I'm just stupid).

As of the point at which that post was made, the thread above this one was the one discussing the publication of the paper on slashdot.

People read the paper on slashdot.

People joined here.

Thank you, sneaklyfox and starling. I figured I was just being obtuse so didn't pursue my nonunderstanding further. (The penetration of slashdot had not been within my awareness.)

Right, sorry, it wasn't really the post before yours, but the thread: and the
order of those changes all the time (!).

So yes, the story was picked up by Slashdot (a popular tech discussion site),
and later Infoworld. Also Larry Page mentioned it on his Google+ page :-)

Thanks much :)

I'm still trying to get a mention in "regular media" (e.g. newspaper) somewhere,
but that is turning out to be difficult..

JayIsGames did Calcudoku (not yours) recently so I posted a message with a link to your site and said yours was much better. My message was deleted very quickly.
