Hello, Just to get things started, here's a first topic, inviting everyone to post their suggestions on how to make the Calcudoku puzzle page better thanks, Patrick |

First, start page should be 4x4 easy or user to have the option to select desired start page. Second, have the ads pop up after puzzle is solved as they take a longer time to load page. |

Do the puzzles have a unique identification number? If so, can it be displayed? |

Or a blog where people can put solving tips and hints. A ranking table where users can select a date and see a ranking of the number of points scored by each user since that date. An addition to the first-solver listing indicating how much time it took the first solver to get the solution. Give users a way to e-mail each other with the choice for each user to accept or reject each e-mail. |

I also agree with japcione that the ads are a nuisance and they delay the speed of the puzzle loading. Maybe they can be placed in a less prominent position as well. |

Thanks, that's a good idea. japcione wrote: Second, have the ads pop up after puzzle is solved as they take a longer time to load page. Yes, I'm already doing that with the timed puzzles. I'm not sure what to do with the ads: they're on there to recoup some of the costs of running the site. Any suggestions on where to put them instead are welcome. Patrick |

Thanks for all the suggestions rossiniman wrote: Or a blog where people can put solving tips and hints. I think I'll add a 2nd forum "solving strategies" or something similar. rossiniman wrote: A ranking table where users can select a date and see a ranking of the number of points scored by each user since that date That's a bit more involved.. rossiniman wrote: An addition to the first-solver listing indicating how much time it took the first solver to get the solution. Yes, thanks, I can add the solving time. rossiniman wrote: Give users a way to e-mail each other with the choice for each user to accept or reject each e-mail. That should be possible in the forum now! (if all works as planned, you can send private messages to forum users)(let me know if it doesn't work) Patrick |
