Another milestone (sort of): Those who have subscribed since subscriptions were introduced around 1 June 2012 and who have solved all extra puzzles since then (including the Sunday no-op puzzles) may reach 10,000 "extra" points on the same day, about five weeks from now: Extra points, World (click on "All Time" between the two yellow bars).

Hi, bram, like conquering Mars, if everything goes as planned, four astronauts (from two different continents) will land soon in that unknown territory [smile] (BTW, I believe the 15 extra points for the 15x15 were introduced by mid June 2014).

Hi, clm, it looks like there may actually be as many as six of us reaching the 10,000 "extra" points on the same day [thumbup] [thumbup] [thumbup] [thumbup] [thumbup] [thumbup]

I noticed mparisi, you, me, manni, pharosian and sjs34 sharing first place in the all-time extra-point rankings as late as May 11th this year, and none of us is more than 16 points behind today, so it is entirely possible that everyone will catch up – if they are at all aware of (or care about) this slightly arbitrary metric [unsure]

I am trying to cut back on the calcudokuing a bit but I found that solving all the extra puzzles in time to get the points is a manageable goal. It is the one field where I can still be "perfect" even if I don't necessarily log in or solve all the puzzles every day. Last summer I was on a nice, computer-free holiday for several weeks and still managed to catch up when I got back [smile]

If we were rewarded exactly 8 points for every extra puzzle it could be determined with astronomer-like precision that we would reach exactly 10,000 "extra" points on October 5th. But because of those "extra extra" points let's just say that we are going to hit the 10,000-"extra"-point mark by early October [smile]

And here it is [cool]

I'm thinking the fact that kus_theo got the 8 millionth solved puzzle is no coincidence :-)

Very cool! In a year or so we'll be looking at one billion puzzles served.
