johne wrote: JayIsGames did Calcudoku (not yours) recently so I posted a message with a link to your site and said yours was much better. My message was deleted very quickly. No, it's still there I think (first comment at this page. Oddly enough, there's also this page about "Calcudoku Light". I submitted a comment to that page, pointing to the "Chrome users are better with numbers" story. Patrick

 Re: Number of users
No - the KenKen comment remained. But my most recent comment was to Calcudoku light and THAT one was removed. Amazingly your comment is still there.

 Re: Number of users
The first two puzzlers from Japan came approximately 6-7 months ago (the site is working from 28 months ago, more or less), the reasons probably related to the fact that this site is not in japanese, or perhaps that in Japan there are many types of different puzzles, or the "kenken" (as an alternative to the "calcudoku" and better known in Japan) ... who knows ... , but the surprising and welcome thing is that suddenly another 25 puzzlers from Japan have joined the site (in the last 10 days, and in conjunction with the impact of the paper about the browsers).
So, congratulations, Patrick, this is really a millestone, and I am sure that if you introduce the japanese version that number of calcudokers would grow spectacularly. Also I would suggest to already open a separate list in the rankings.

(you can see a test page at http://www.calcudoku.org/ops/getset/jp) Also, it is possible that the puzzle has a different name in Japan (possibly "kashikoku naru"), and I'm guessing this name was not considered suitable for the Western market. Re: Number of users
Great, now it's a question of two or three months to have this seed growing up.
