Post How many points are needed for next bonus puzzle?
When I first started doing these puzzles, earlier this year, I needed to score just under 100 points to qualify for the next bonus puzzle. Now, as a subscriber, I have to accumulate 400 points. Is it a case of the more puzzles you complete, the less bonus puzzles become available [confused] ?

It now is like this: 25 points for the first bonus puzzle,
then 50, 100, 200, 400, and 500 (and after that it stays at 500).

For subscribers the numbers are 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, and 400.

At some point I want to make it so only the points for the 5 highest
scoring puzzles in a day are counted, after which those points jumps
will be lowered.

If you go to a top 5 system, how would the 12x12s be considered? First day? Last day? Day the solution is submitted? Separate category independent of top 5?

Good question.

As the code is now, it uses the day the solution is submitted.

But this may complicate thing, because then there'd be an "optimal day" to submit the 12x12.

So maybe it should be counted separately (i.e. always counted).

Edit: I've changed the "t5" computation now to do this: 12x12 is always counted,
separately, on the day it is solved.

But as you point out, that could mean different final value depending on which day it is solved if a top 5 system happens. (Unless, of course, you go with the separate category idea.)

Yes, that's what I meant, I edited my previous post to make that clearer.
