'Tis alright, we users are being pampered enough as it is :-)
Who knows, maybe I'll even order the <shudder> print edition eventually? [scared]

A different tack for the promotion: now the ad "Support this site, buy the new Calcudoku Advanced book"
is shown in the "solved box" [smile]

It has sold a total of 11 (eleven) copies so far, which doesn't really justify the crazy amount of
time that went into producing it [crying]

But to sell more books I probably should create one that also has Sudoku and Killer Sudoku puzzles
(and make the puzzles less difficult).

A few days ago I inserted this review in Amazon.com (additionally in amazon.co.uk and in Amazon.es): "My congratulations to the creator. Imaginative, surprising, variated, amazing, smart, the best possible book for all those who love numbers !" and after some more days I have received an e-mail message saying:

"Your review helped another customer shop for 'Calcudoku: 121 Advanced Puzzles...'

"a customer just told us your review was helpful to them while shopping on Amazon." :-) :-)

Thanks [thumbup]

But maybe the review on amazon.es should be in Spanish?

Perhaps, though the book sold in Amazon.es is the English version (not translated), I think people who is going to buy this book understands English, otherwise it would be very difficult for them to follow the introductory explanations (in other words, the beginners will not probably buy this book [confused], many puzzles are very difficult, unless they have a "mathematical mind" and become intrigued with what is a Calcudoku). However I will try to insert an additional review in Spanish.

(By the way, in my opinion, once more, the rating assigned by the "program" does not correspond in several cases to the real difficulty as seen from the puzzler, anyway this is an old subject; I think we will have ocassion of talking about this after more experience with the book is achieved by other calcudokers who are sending solutions.)

Having completely finished the book (waiting for the next :-) :-) ), this is my feedback:

The extra large puzzles (111 thru 121) require time but they are not specially difficult, the more difficult is probably the 121 (17x17) due to the large multiplication and addition cages (7-cell, 6-cell, ... ).

Puzzles 58 (page 92), 59 (page 93) and 103 (page 149) rated with 6 stars are medium/difficult but at all "nearly impossible".

The harder puzzles, in my opinion, are:

46 (page 79)
50 (page 83)
57 (page 91)
69 (page 106)
70 (page 107)
93 (page 136)

and specially difficult (though rated with 5 stars):

98 (page 143)
100 (page 145)
and 110 (page 157), being the 110 the most difficult in the book.

Will it be possible to buy this book as a PDF download? [drool]

Sorry, no, the self-publishing site I'm using now (Amazon "CreateSpace") does not support that
as far as I know.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to set up something separate on my site (i.e. if that's allowed or not)

Patrick

That would be great.
I will purchase it from Amazon then grab a PDF copy from your site:)

Changed my mind. The hard copy is sufficient. Thanks.
