Hi, my username is sietse, naturally a solver.
Each puzzle is solved by my own.
With all due regards for jpoos : you are not a solver,
you are solvers.

I guess we are cheating a little bit.
Though it should be said, we would both be able to solve all the puzzles on our own.

It would seem to me that we all are solvers. There is even a web sight called calcudoku solver. I have never used it myself and would hope that no one would solve a puzzle on that web sight and enter it on this web sight for points. There are very few puzzles I have not been able to solve on my own. I would get no satisfaction entering puzzles for points if I did not do them myself.

I agree. Hard to see how you get any satisfaction from (effectively) cheating.

I'm trying to work my way through all the book puzzles and some of them are proving very troublesome. Some of the books have solutions at the back and it would be very easy to cheat by looking up the solution or even just getting someone to look up a particular cell for you. But I've told myself that if I ever look up a book puzzle solution, I will no longer have the right to enter that puzzle for points.

And my 'completist' personality would find that very difficult to deal with. So I have resisted the temptation to look up any part of a solution. But there are times when I wish the solutions weren't there in the first place.
