reduce the number of puzzles?
Really triggered by this issue: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=927Should I maybe cap the number of puzzles each day at, say, 15? So for today, maybe remove the easy Sudoku and the easy 5x5, for example? What do people think? Patrick

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
If you were going to reduce the number of puzzles, I would suggest getting rid of both the sudoku puzzles. I only do the medium in order to compete all the puzzles worth points and I do the easy about once every three months.

Patrick IMHO, clearly, more people is actually doing the medium sudoku (earning 2 points) than the easy sudoku, but I would not remove the small puzzles, 4x4's or 5x5's, these are very interesting for new calcudokers (students, etc.), they do not take much effort or time. I am sure you will soon find a solution for the space in the main tab .

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
As I said in the other thread, I advocate removing all sudoku and killer sudoku.

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
I'm fine without the sudoku, but I actually really enjoy the killer sudokus when I get to them. They're as enjoyable as normal Kenkens and provide some very amusing blind spots

Currently, what is the puzzle count by day of the week?

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
The medium sudoku is not challenging: mostly only two methods will suffice. So these can be removed.

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
(original post in wrong section)....ergo a repeat question;;;; ? Didn't Patrick put the sudokus in to attract more users to the site ?....? did the experiment work ?......If not, then dropping the sudokus would make sense!!

I think both the sudoku and the full compliment of 4x4, 5x5, etc are all helpful in attracting new solvers. But as you say, some must be more successful than others.

Re: reduce the number of puzzles?
I'm thinking now the best candidate for removal is the easy Sudoku.
There are still 100+ people solving it each day though..
