Hello,

Just to get things started, here's a first topic, inviting
everyone to post their suggestions on how to make
the Calcudoku puzzle page better :-)

thanks,

First, start page should be 4x4 easy or user to have the option to select desired start page. Second, have the ads pop up after puzzle is solved as they take a longer time to load page.

Do the puzzles have a unique identification number? If so, can it be displayed?

Or a blog where people can put solving tips and hints.

A ranking table where users can select a date and see a ranking of the number of points scored by each user since that date.

An addition to the first-solver listing indicating how much time it took the first solver to get the solution.

Give users a way to e-mail each other with the choice for each user to accept or reject each e-mail.

I also agree with japcione that the ads are a nuisance and they delay the speed of the puzzle loading. Maybe they can be placed in a less prominent position as well.

Thanks, that's a good idea.

Yes, I'm already doing that with the timed puzzles. I'm not sure what to do with the
ads: they're on there to recoup some of the costs of running the site.

Any suggestions on where to put them instead are welcome.

They do, and yes, will do.

Good idea, maybe someone can start a "solving methods" topic :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I think I'll add a 2nd forum "solving strategies" or something similar.

That's a bit more involved..

Yes, thanks, I can add the solving time.

That should be possible in the forum now! (if all works as planned, you can send private messages
to forum users)(let me know if it doesn't work)
