I really struggled with this and failed to solve it before midnight CET. I note that it has only been solved 123 times. Looking back over the previous month, in the weeks when it wasn’t subscriber only, around 800 people solved it. I wonder if this is a record low for an 8x8 non subscriber only puzzle?

TY for looking up past number of solves for such a puzzle. I remember it was a tough. I was not happy when doing it. I was lucky, or stubborn and eventually got it. I also wanted to know how the number of solves compared to puzzles in the past.

Although I agree that this puzzle was relatively difficult, I solved it quite quickly with only one guess.
I personally struggled way more with Tuesday's 9x9, which had an extremely low number of solves as well.
