OK, this is just me. This is may be personal, but it is how I double check things.

I am subscriber. I know that Patrick has now allowed non subscribers to get access to the two extra puzzles each day, by watching ads. That is Patrick's choice.

This has made me change my habits. While I have a pull down menu to see If I completed all the EXTRA puzzles, I have relied on the YTD rankings to find out IF I have extra puzzle waiting for me to solve.

With the way the YTD rankings have been altered, can we have an icon, similar to the box for bonus puzzles, that indicates if players who are subscribers have older EXTRA (month) puzzles waiting to be solved?

Visually, it could be just a simple as a X that appears next to the box if one has an unsolved extra.

If you click on your total points, it shows a drop down list. The last item on this list is Unsolved Extras and if you click on this it will either show that you have 0 Unsolved Extras or will provide a list showing which extras are unsolved.

People can be forgetful.

Some days I can't get to that EXTRA puzzle. Then, I get caught up in real life and it may not be a priority.

I have used the YTD rankings to help me know if I have a forgotten about an EXTRA puzzle.

That no longer exists with the new method of YTD rankings.

I just want an easy way to tell me that I have an unsolved EXTRA puzzle waiting to be solved, similar to the box that indicates one has an unsolved bonus puzzle waiting to be solved.

I think I’ve figured out the box to which you’re referring. It’s the box that pops up when you’ve solved a puzzle and part of the information shown is how many points you are away from your next bonus puzzle. Or, if you have reached the target, it informs you of this fact.

So what you’re looking for is an additional line in this box that tells you how many unsolved extras you have? Is that it?

Not really too much. But then again, it would save you only 2 mouse clicks

It would add some load to the server (because now the info is retrieved only when
the user requests it, having an "alert icon" would mean this retrieval would have
to be run at every page load).

Where is this box located?

I think it's the box next to your points total.

If there is treasure in the box, then your bonus puzzle is still unsolved.
Empty box == solved
