This was one that was lying around for ages: when someone subscribes this is also updated in the forum database (so it'll say "subscriber" below your name ), but when a subscription expires, this is never updated

Fixed now, sadly had to update 374 user records

A bug I noticed about a month ago: after solving an easy 4x4 on a test account, I got the "week streak" achievement (!)
(and this was the first puzzle I had solved on the account in 2026).

The bug was quite subtle, and found with the help of Google's "Gemini": these days the AI "coding agents" are very useful, and save a _lot_ of time

I do now have to check the week and month streaks awarded in 2026

Another fix/feature: puzzler clm has done the most timed puzzles, so when he has done all of a certain size, the server can't find a new one, and his browser times out.

I've added a daily check for this, and now get an automatic warning when clm has solved 95% of the puzzles of any pool

- the number of "week streak" achievers went from 1148 to 744
- the number of "month streak" achievers went from 1002 to 418

An interesting side effect: I had the idea of doing a special puzzle maybe when 50,000 achievements were completed, checking the count occasionally, and missed it

But with the corrected counts, the total now stands at 49,057

So there still is time

ok, the book achievements have been corrected now as well:



The new "achievements total" is 48,655 but this includes the achievements
that are "in progress" (!)

So still to exclude the ones that haven't reached their target yet, and I'm guessing that number will be large.

So in fact 50,000 achieved achievements is still a long way away..
