Hi. This is my favourite site so far for doing this sort of puzzle.Anyway, it always says I have 2 days to complete a puzzle. But if I want the points, I have to complete the puzzle in less than 2 days. So my question is: what does the 2-day instruction really refer to? Thanks people.

I hope I'm doing this right (not much experience with computers and this forum). Yes, you are correct. I forgot that I only get that message with the more difficult puzzles. As for my question about points, it's entirely possible that I'm missing some basic point. What happens is this: I start a new and difficult puzzle as soon as it comes out. Say an hour later, I'll save is using the 'save' button, and log out. I might not log back in for more than 24 hours - but less than 48. I return to the saved puzzle and finish it. But there's no message saying that points have been added -- which is what happens when I finish a difficult puzzle right away. Sorry to be so long-winded. Considering your reply, I think I should just keep am eye on things and not bother about it. I'll probably figure it out soon enough. Mea culpa (is that the expression?) Thank you.

What happens is this: I start a new and difficult puzzle as soon as it comes out. Say an hour later, I'll save is using the 'save' button, and log out. I might not log back in for more than 24 hours - but less than 48.

Typically you have 24 hours to solve a puzzle, from the moment it appears (at midnight in Europe, so 6pm Eastern Time for example).

For a small number of puzzles you have 48 hours or 72 hours.

So let's say you work on a puzzle at 10am (and assuming you're on Eastern Time), this is 4pm European time, 8 hours before the next day's puzzles appear.

The solutions of the previous day's puzzles become available at midnight (use the calendar to go to an earlier date, and click "Solution"), so then you can't earn points for these anymore.
