Exclusive puzzles
Thank you to everyone who liked the puzzle I created. It has such quite distinctive features: - 8 cages, - 13 cells in largest cage, - 3 cells in smallest cage, - 68 sum of cage, - 5 shapes of cages.
To encourage puzzle-making, I suggest posting a puzzle challenge.
Who will create a puzzle of size 1..8 x 1..8 with record in one of these categories: a) minimum number of cages; b) maximum number of cells in biggest cage; c) maximum number of cells in smallest cage; d) biggest sum of cells in one cage; e) smallest number of cage shapes (rotation and mirroring is included inside same shape); f) biggest number of cage shapes.
May be split in different categories - only one operation or many, without any singe cell cage or with defined number cell.
My sweetest puzzle I have sent to Patrick and he like this fun challenge.

Re: Exclusive puzzles
Mikas, I have taken on your puzzle challenge, and will submit an 8x8 puzzle soon. Quote: b) maximum number of cells in biggest cage; My puzzle has a cage with 30 cells Quote: d) biggest sum of cells in one cage; The sum in the large cage is 177 It also has an unusual feature: the largest cage spans all rows and all columns of the puzzle, I don't remember seeing this before. The puzzle is easy to solve, i was only focusing on creating a very large cage and not the difficulty.

Re: Exclusive puzzles
Congratulation Michaele. Looks like very fat puzzle. But don`t forget to verify the main rule of correct puzzle - it must have only one solution.

Quote: But don`t forget to verify the main rule of correct puzzle - it must have only one solution. I will say I did not spend as much time as usual checking this puzzle, when I have submitted puzzles before I would check and re-check many times. I solved this puzzle without using any guessing, or trial and error, so there should be only one solution. Quote: My solver is choking on michaele's puzzle so far, will need to investigate It is good to know that I am choking your solver The puzzle is actually very easy, probably too easy, it is only about creating something different and the solution will show that I should have tried harder when creating it.

Re: Exclusive puzzles
This is the puzzle I created, it has an unusually large cage just to be different. The largest cage contains almost half the cells in the puzzle.

Re: Exclusive puzzles
Very nice puzzle, Michaele! It looks very difficult, but my solver only uses basic logic. Unbelievable!
