A linked list of puzzle content related to mikas' challenge (28 March – 17 April 2020)

From mikas

Who will create a puzzle of size 1..8 x 1..8 with record in one of these categories:
a) minimum number of cages;
b) maximum number of cells in biggest cage;
c) maximum number of cells in smallest cage;
d) biggest sum of cells in one cage;
e) smallest number of cage shapes (rotation and mirroring is included inside same shape);
f) biggest number of cage shapes.

May be split in different categories - only one operation or many, without any singe cell cage or with defined number cell.

Good job, Michaele,

Now do the last step, change 8 twins to 4 L-shapes.

That was my plan, but I could not make it work [sad] , there was always more than one solution to the puzzle. That is why I changed some of the L shapes to smaller cages.
It is probably possible to get down to just 1 cage shape using 2 cell cages, I will let somebody else attempt that.
