Post Yet another beautifully designed 8x8 user-created puzzle
Today's 8x8 by swimminghorses was an absolute joy to solve. At the start, with all the 0- cages on the left, it looked nigh impossible, but the way the puzzle was designed did several things to guide the puzzler through a satisfying experience:

1) made use of a variety of puzzle-solving strategies, including parity and mapping out possibilities, but never too much speculation
2) involved several steps of similar difficulty (not easy, keeping it a challenge, but not too hard as to be discouraging) to gradually solve it

Thank you swimminghorses for yet another amazing puzzle!

I'm not going to have much free time this weekend due to work stuff, so shamefully I just bifurcated at r4c3 and it fell apart really fast. I'm excited to go back and figure out where the actual logic path was.

Edit: 5 seconds later I went back and looked at it and in retrospect the other choice is super easy to eliminate if I hadn't been speed-solving lol.

I agree - an excellent puzzle. Puzzles with a lot of subtraction cages can be quite challenging.

As MV says, lots of interesting steps and different techniques involved in solving the puzzle. Thank you swimminghorses.

Marble's write up is excellent.
This was a fun puzzle to solve.
