If you look at the bottom left quadrant and at the possible combinations in the 11 cage, this will eliminate one of the options in the 18 cage.

Hope this helps.

OK, think that [2,7] is not possible in c8-c9, since the 11 cage could not be formed, so [1,8].

Next. The 12 cage in h9-i9 must be [5,7] (>>> g8-g9 = [2,9] with g8 = 2, g9 = 9), due to the 3 in g7-h7 and [4,8] would not permit the cell d9 to be either a 1 or a 4.
I can not give you more tips, because Patrick is going to reconvene me :-)

Guidocram,
I understand your frustration.

I wont post a hint here because the puzzle is still current. When reset occurs, I will tell you what I did.

When I first joined, KS puzzles were new to me. Easy ones were easy and I learned how the basics of how to do them, but medium and difficult KS puzzles were more challenging. It took me a lot of practice to be able to do all of them consistently.

I recommend purchasing the two KS books that Patrick has for sale. You get a great deal of practice and you get points for turning in completed puzzles.

Also, go through the forum topic on SOLVING STRATEGIES AND TIPS. CLM, and others have written some extensive posts on various types of puzzles. I learned from them.

I don't see why [4,8] in the 12 box h9-i9 would block a 1 in d9.

Edit:
Never mind, i see the issue with the 1 or 8 in c9. c9 and d9 cannot both be 1 ofcourse.

Tips on the current puzzle would help so I can test myself how much further I get.

The issue I have with that is that since this puzzle is still worth points,
I don't think it's fair to all the other participants who don't ask for hints. That is my moral compass, no one else's.

You can go back for up to one month and do old puzzle; you just won't earn points for solving the puzzle (unless it the EXTRA puzzle that is a perk for Subscribers).
Early on, I ddi that a few times to get the hang of KS or one of the variations Calcudoku.

That's a great feature I was unaware of, thanks for sharing!
