Top 25 today are all sub 5 minutes and there's still over half an hour to go.

Yes, I see that......thinking maybe the 4:45 might be too high and am now thinking in the range of 4:30-4:45......some users are getting pretty fast on a daily basis (not just a one-off for some users like myself (a 3:52) and others)

Re: 8x8 timed, top 10 / top 25
A few days ago (maybe on Sat) I got my 14th best time 3:4? and I placed 7th (I think) in the list. I was really pleased. I haven't done such a good time in a very long while.
Today, I did my 4th best time, 3:3? and I am right now in 9th place.
Its crazy. I know that Paul keeps the stats, and the long term trends, but the daily trends are a roller coster.

Quote: Times are getting faster and faster. 10th place yesterday was 3:02.989 and 25th was 5:04.516. Looks like we’re heading towards sub 3 minutes being required for top 10 and sub 5 minutes for top 25. Yesterday, one even needed 3:00.950, six people scored a sub-2-minutes . I personally think it's not only that many grow faster, there are a lot of new fast subscribers too: only one year ago, three out of yesterday's four fastest puzzlers (including me) had not solved a single timed 8*8, if I'm right.

I severely underestimated the agility of some users as the previous post has suggested a sub "3" might be the only ones that get into the top 25 :(......(where is crying emoticon when you need it)

But I did my 4th best time today 3:21.x and I’m already outside the top ten with over 5 hours to go.

Re: 8x8 timed, top 10 / top 25
A 4:27 on Saturday was good enough for the top 25...... possibly because users were too busy with Thanksgiving and shopping........whatever the reason, it was nice to finally be in top 25

Whether that will remain the case remains to be seen ...
