All my times for the last week or so have been 12+ minutes.....so when I got this one, I was hoping to be in top 10 but with these arthritic knuckles that have recently showed up, my times will never be as good as the daily top 10 unless I get a really easy one and that one seemed to be easier than anything I have seen in the past while......but with all these new younger users, I think I will have to settle for just the 1 pt/puzzle [sad]....and now it is time to try today's!!!Yesterday's time would have been good enough for today but today was 6:26 [sad]

Did my slowest ever uninterrupted 8x8 today - 37 minutes 45 seconds! [scared]

I concluded that a 3- cell could not be 14, 36 or 47. Therefore it had to be 25. I got stuck about 10 times until I realised that 58 was also possible for that cell! [blush]

Happy New Year everyone!

Paul,
I know I have had 8 x 8s that were easily into the 20 + minutes. Not sure about the 30+ min time. But probably.
You are in good company, or maybe it is me who is in good company?

I think we both deserve some recognition for perseverance, even if we are not as nimble fingered as some of our younger comrades.

I figure I could do the puzzle in around 8 minutes every day if I took my time and made sure I was following a logical, step by step approach. The problem is that I'm trying to do it against the clock, so mistakes happen quite a lot and sometimes I develop a blind spot that leaves me stuck for ages. I know I had a 20 minutes plus within the last couple of days only a day or two after my 37 minutes plus. [blush]

I think I'm getting slower rather than quicker. It's been a long time since I had a top three over any of the timed puzzles, apart from a 6x6 about a week ago that was 0.4 seconds inside my previous 3rd best time.

It is the "clock" that puts the pressure on and with that little amount of pressure, you are right in that you miss something and you then spend "valuable" time trying to figure it out.....my most common mistake is placing a 5 in a designated 6 cell (or vice/ versa ) same with the 8&9 or the 2&3!
