Re: 8x8 timed
I've had a very mixed run at this lately, with 4 top tens and 6 times outside the top 25 since the end of last month. Today, I managed my best ever time - not particularly fast compared to the speedsters, but an improvement of over 14 seconds on my previous best. Whether my time of 3:07.711 will be good enough for top ten remains to be seen!

Re: 8x8 timed
Thanks beaker. I managed to finish 8th, so got an extra bonus point. Yesterday was just one of those days where everything fell into place. The previous day, I got completely stuck early on.

Re: 8x8 timed
FRUSTRATION/CELEBRATION:
With my 5th best 8x8 timed puzzle ever, I missed 4 points by 0.081 seconds. I don't think I have ever been in the top three. It was nice to come close, though.

Re: 8x8 timed
Well done sjs. But I think understand the frustration. I've finished 11th two days in a row in the 8x8.

Re: 8x8 timed
I did a semi decent (for me) 8x8 today and was wondering if my time of 4:11 had any chance of being in the top 10. When I looked at the rankings, I saw that there have already been 11 times posted of 3:40 or better!

Re: 8x8 timed
I did a rather poor 8x8 yesterday and was pleasantly surprised when I logged on just after midnight CET to see that I was ranked 25th on yesterday's solved puzzles. Then I noticed today that I was only awarded 1 point and checked again to find that I was now ranked 26th. My frustration was compounded by the fact that I was also 26th on yesterday's 5x5.

Fingers crossed! By the way, I did one of my best times yesterday (3:50.574) and only finished 13th!
