I only just noticed that the points were changed [omg] But I have been wondering why my points tally was so high (timed past 7 days), but this explains it. My points jumped from 65-75 a week to >90 suddenly, and I thought I wasn't doing that great.. Maybe with this new points system I can finally break the 100 points per week goal I've had for a few years now [drool]

I did it! By the skin of my teeth, but I managed to score 7 points yesterday - 10th in the 8x8 and 24th in the 6x6. [biggrin]

I wonder if the change in points allocated has resulted in an increase in the number of people doing the timed puzzles?

Also, has the changed point system led to improved times for the top 25 / top 50?

I think the times have gotten lower..........especially in the 8x8's [cursing]

My times are improving but often frustratingly so, as that often leaves me somewhere in position 26-35. For example, on the last 2 days of 4x4s I got my 99th and 48th best times in 4254 tries which were good for 29th place and 27th place on the two days.

Success at last!! I actually had an 8 point day. (I don't think I'd ever even had a 7 point day before.) It took my 4th best ever 4x4 and my 29th best ever 5x5 which were good enough to get places #24 and #25 respectively.

Alas, I think (rather, I know) I will get either for 4 or 5 points each day.......old fingers and eye/hand coordination are not what they used to be.........still [smile] ing tho!!
