Patrick,
Is there any way for individuals to get the old clock back?

I find the increased size of the clock very distracting, and it only adds to my anxiousness as I do a tined puzzle.

Ah, there was one reaction in the "Timed puzzles" subforum, and this one is in "Bugs and errors".. [scared]

(edit: I moved this thread to "Timed Puzzles")

(viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1330)

Still to add is some frantic clock ticking sound.

I would very much support a return to the old clock (even as an option.) I find the size not only distracting, but especially getting to the 8x8 puzzles, the size creates an issue for fitting everything on the screen.

For now, I used adblock to block/hide the clock as I don't particularly need to see it while I am attempting a solve. The old clock was nice in providing the elapsed time if you want to see it it while being relatively unobtrusive if you don't.

I agree. Don't like the new clock. I'd like the option of having the old one.

I also vote for the old timer. That new one reminds me a bit the timer in my old Nokia phone that I used for measuring my breath holding. :-)
It is quite hot for anywhere, but not for here, I thinkā€¦

Old timer is less intrusive, and that should help to keep the focus on the puzzle. An option to choose between timers (new one, old one, none at all?) would be welcomed.

That being said, I managed to post a decent 5x5 time yesterday, and a decent 6x6 time today with the new clock. Maybe it subconsciously works with "Need to solve this puzzle asap, just to get rid of the clock"

I don't even see the timer when I do a timed puzzle [huh]

But I suppose there could be different styles of timers. Disabling it completely seems odd,
given that it is about solving a puzzle against time.

A more general plan is to have different "themes" for the page, so people could choose a "dark theme" for example.

The timer 'disappeared' for me today. It just took a few days to get used to.

Strangely, my times didn't really improve...
