Position marker acting strangely
When I just returned to the site to complete my puzzles, I noticed that the orange position marker sometimes marks the cell it leaves orange as well. The effect seems to occur only when multiple arrow keys are pressed at the same time, or when one is pressed for a long time, so it enabled me to turn today's 12x12 into a smiley: However, when trying to solve a puzzle as fast as possible, it is very disturbing, because after a few seconds half of the puzzle is colored orange, making it hard to see where the marker is at the moment. This morning, I also solved a few puzzles and the bug didn't show up then, so I think it must be something introduced during the last couple of hours

Re: Position marker acting strangely
The same thing happened to me just now when I was doing the timed 8x8. About 2/3rds of the cells turned orange. Needless to say, it was very distracting and I did one of my slowest ever 8x8s.

Re: Position marker acting strangely
I have this bug too (using Firefox 86.0 on Windows 7). Of course it's quite distracting and needs to be fixed, but was interesting to see how the orange "tracks" in some cases not only illustrated trivial "scanning" inferences I'd just made but also hinted at feasible next steps I might not otherwise have thought of immediately. And rafaelhoukes' artwork is very nice On second thought, I say keep it this way

Re: Position marker acting strangely
Disturbing indeed. And orange isn't my favorite color. It's too royal.

Re: Position marker acting strangely
I was playing around with the transition from cell to cell of the cursor, decided against changing it, but must have left an error in there somewhere.. will check

Re: Position marker acting strangely
If it helps with the bug-fixing at all (Which it may not), the bug doesn't appear to happen on twin puzzles.

Re: Position marker acting strangely
I agree with starling (although I wondered if I just didn't drag my finger on the twins).

Re: Position marker acting strangely
Now that the bug appears to have been fixed, I'm curious if puzzles were notably slower than average yesterday.
