Post subject:  site loading slowly, interface appears late
The puzzles load, so I can see the puzzles. Problem is the interface (to access cells and put numbers in) does not. So I can't solve puzzles at the moment. Not sure if that is a temporary glitch on my end, or if someone is working on a server somewhere. Thought I'd report it the moment I experienced it, as people may get issues solving the daily puzzles too, if it affects them as well.

Tried two different browsers, exact same issue.


Edit: Seems to be resolved.

I'm not sure where to post this and I never come on the forums these days, but for several months now a similar thing happens to me. I can see the puzzles but I cannot move to another cell or input anything. It takes a long time, sometimes 20 seconds up to 2 mins when going to a new puzzle before I can start solving. This didn't happen before. As a result I come to the site less.

If this is specific to you (no idea yet), then I can add some extra debugging code for your account, to try and determine the cause.

It happens occasionally to me, but it hasn't ever happened on a timed puzzle so I've never worried about it.

Did this start recently?
i.e. after your subscription ended, or before also?

(trying to determine if maybe the ad code is to blame)

No, I actually don't believe I've seen it in the last week or two.

I think it's like a once a month thing at virtual random and I've always assumed it was a local issue.

The one thing I noticed so far is that the job that adds the timed bonus puzzle points is (over)loading the system.

It runs from 1.10am until about 1.25am.
(which is 7.10pm - 7.25pm ET)
I'll look into improving that script.


For the adventurous: if this happens again, you could press Ctrl + Shift + i,
which shows the "developer tools". Then select "Network", and send me a screenshot
of that bit after the page has fully loaded [namaste]
