Hey Patrick,

Awesome thing you have going here. I just subscribed yesterday. This isn't really a bug fix, but just a suggestion...

With the new "Killer" puzzles I notice I screw up some of the cells because of the black bold 9x9 grid. It overides the dotted lines crossing through sometimes. Can you try making the 9x9 overlay dotted and the cells bold? I don't know that that will make any difference but it I think it will help.

Am I the only one?

If so I guess I have to suck it up!

Thanks for the suggestion. I could make the "3x3 boxes" slightly lighter, and have
the dotted lines be on top of that (will have to wait until tomorrow though, it's getting late here.. [sleep] )

What ever you do keep them coming!!! I rather enjoy them.
Are you going to make it possible to obtain points with them?

Maybe. I need to think about the time requirement for people
wanting to solve every puzzle on a day, at some point it may
get too much (or already is..)

Patrick: looking at the 10x10's of the past 3 weeks, I have observed that not many users are getting the solutions (on the June 20th I required 4 paper tries and 1 computer screen try to actually finish it) and today's will probably take as many times.......so am thinking that maybe you could put a moderate "killer sudoku" in its place in the future [thumbsup] .......that way you are not increasing the number of puzzles per day plus the 20 minutes that I took to do it would not be as frustrating as the hours I took to solve the 10x10.

How about for some puzzles or the one beaker suggested, the page for 10x10 puzzle (or new name) takes you to a screen where the user can choose which puzzle to do? Either a killer sudoku or a 10x10? (It doesn't have to be the 10x10 but can happen anywhere you want.) The points awarded would be the same of course and it should be of comparable difficulty.

I like the idea of sneaklyfox to be able to choose your own puzzle.

Maybe make the points awarded variable to the difficulty of the puzzle? In that way each player can choose his/hers own dificulty and is awarded accordingly?

Patrick,

Anymore consideration on points for killer puzzles? I just spent an hour hashing out the hard one and get no points [angry] but i knew that when i started it.
Just wondering if you are planning something.

Thank you,
Brian

P.s. Thank you for altering the cage darkness. It is much gooder!!!!

Had hoped there was no time limit on these "killers" as I solved one from yesterday and then tried to input it today and of course it was no longer available.......if possible, could you leave them on the site for a couple of days?

I'd like to stick to the "original" Killer Sudoku format as much as possible.
One thing that's possible (and already implemented, just not on the site yet)
is to have the dotted lines in different colours.
