 next test, even more difficult...
This one should be even harder than the ones in the previous topic.
Let me know if still doable... (I'm trying to solve them myself as well).

This is the type of "killer" perfect: quite difficult, doable, unique solution, it complies with the "rule" of no repetition of numbers inside any cage, no 1-cell cages, very good distribution of cages, including the two 6-cell, the two 5-cell and the two 4-cell, all shapes different for all big cages including the interesting cross "22" in f2, ... .

It is "difficult" to observe that c2 = b8 + 8 (looking to the sum of the two leftmost columns) so b8 =1, c2 = 9 (unique) what starts the solution. I really enjoyed it.

Great, thanks clm for the very useful feedback as always :-)

I'm looking to publish a Killer Sudoku book, the difficult puzzles in there
will range in difficulty between the ones in the previous topic and this one.

Maybe I should add 1 or 2 Extremely Difficult ones :-)

I am sure that book would have a great success (and bigger success as more difficult they are), specially with the printed edition, there are not many good books of "killers"; if you add a code to the puzzles people could get points in this site. [thumbup]

Btw (unsure if this new subject is properly placed in this thread), the books "102 Large Puzzles" (your book nr. 4 IIRC) and "102 Large Puzzles Extra" (for subscribers only, your book nr. 8 if I am right) have each 70 "invalid" Calcudokus (theorically B14D1 thru B14D70 and B20D1 thru B20D70) to obtain additional points. But, considering the case of other puzzles (smaller) with points assigned (161 thru 201, 5x5's and 6x6's, book "201 Tricky Calcudoku Puzzles", 5 points; 81 thru 100, fm 5x5's thru 9x9's, book "Calcudoku 100 Free Puzzles", 8 points; and 161 thru 201, 5x5' and 6x6's, book "201 Tricky Puzzles Extra", 5 points), I would suggest [smile] (if this represents a lot of additional software work then I apologize for the suggestion [thumbdn] ) to activate those "lost" 140 very interesting 12x12's in order to get points with them (with the proper announcement, of course).

Well, they're not invalid puzzles, it's just that you can't score points for solving them on the site.

Interesting suggestion, but especially in the case of books I think I should
stick with what is on the printed page, instead of applying changes that
are only announced online...
