Darn it. I need 34 days to get the last ones turned in. [crying]

Does this mean you don't want a new book?

NO NO NO [scared]

I really would like the new book.
I like the cover with the dragon, too

I have 67 puzzles left to turn in. They are all from Adv vol II. They are all done. It just takes time.

Some other ideas:

  • the number of points for a puzzle = its number of stars x 2
  • the choice to download a version with or without solutions
  • only the version without solutions would allow you to submit puzzles for points [bored] [blink]

?

I wouldn't be in favour of reducing the number of points. Previous books in this series gave 12 points for each solved puzzle. However, if there are any extra large puzzles (greater than 12x12), I would favour increasing the number of points to the size of the puzzle.

Personally, I would prefer the book not to have solutions. If someone gets really stuck, they could ask you for the solutions and I guess you could at that stage flag their account so that they can't submit any further puzzles for points from that book. Having said that, if someone really wants to cheat, they could borrow the solutions from someone else and the only person they would be cheating is themselves in any event.

I'll probably leave out the solutions at first, can always add them later
(with or without the "remove points feature")

edit: alright, a bit sooner than expected, volume IV should be available now at:

You were not able to allow us to use an online solver?

That's a sizable programming project...

I'd like to build it once I find time for it [mellow]

I just wrote out a puzzle by hand and solved it. It was a 3 star puzzle and should therefore have been worth 6 points, but I only received two points for solving it? [confused]

Just to see what happened if I submitted a puzzle with a different star rating, I did a 2 star puzzle and was also awarded 2 points. I think your programming may be defaulting to two points for each puzzle regardless of star rating, Patrick.
