Post First player in New Zealand/Australia to 100,000
I'd just like to congratulate ric3142 (that's me) on reaching the magic 100,000. And for the record, I'm a New Zealander but since we're lumped in with the Aussies on here, I'm happy to represent them as well. Lately I've managed to turn on a few of my maths students to Calcudoku but how long it will last is anybody's guess. My 25 yo daughter enjoys them too. I turn 65 in a few months time but I intend to continue exercising the brain cells with these puzzles for a long time to come. Thanks pnm for this site!

Congrats [thumbup]

And about the lumping in: I did that here and there because some rankings lists were a bit short
(and it still is I see, 32 people on the "last 7 days" list)

For a while I had Russia and Ukraine in one list, but changed that to "Eastern Europe" [rolleyes]

Congrats ric3142 bloody awesome achievement, Hopefully one day i'll join you (I'm from across the ditch on the big island :). I've only really bothered about the points side of it the last year or so but I still don't think i'd have hot 100k by now. I get up to the 6 hard puzzles out each day & can do the 9's if I get time (less calcudoku time now as work recently changed security & I can't access from work as it's deemed a "Puzzle site"), most 7's & 8's I'm OK on & have only recently started to even try the 10 Extra's (Love the 10 Friday which has long been my favourite of the week to do). I actually had a cracjk at a 12 last week & finished it (may have done 1 before but not 100% sure) but the 15's I don't even bother so a lot of points each week I'm no hope of getting. Again congrats & keep up the good work & I too enjoy this site for exercising the old (clicked over to 53 last Month) brain cells & endeavour to continue on & on & on.

Congratulations ric3142. [thumbsup]

I too live on an island with a bigger neighbour, I've just turned just turned 65 and I have a daughter living in New Zealand so that's a few things we have in common. It will be a couple of years before I reach the 100,000 points mark, and if I make it, I will probably be the first person from Ireland to do so, but not the first from the UK and Ireland combined - that's already been achieved.

My semi-retirement fantasy has been to work in New Zealand for a couple of years but, when I tried to retire 18 months ago, I was met with an offer to stay that was too good, so here I am still.

Work security rules can be a pain but can also be a bit silly. I also cannot access the site on my work computer due to being a puzzle site, but I can bring in my laptop and access the puzzles on the guest network.

Congratulations ric3142 (pi??). I'm a kiwi too but I've been nervous about becoming a subscriber since the day is only finite (sorry Patrick, maybe one day). The thing I love about the site is the mathematical challenge of finding more solving techniques.

@ fb,
I found this site just over four years ago. I waited a week or so before I became a subscriber.

I just earned 100K in points, a few days ago.

I could not do every type of puzzle when I first became a subscriber. I learned how to do them. The Killer Sudokus were the worst , IMO.

I have always felt it was worth it to be a subscriber. You get three more puzzles per day. One of those three puzzles has a time limit of a month before it expires
