For any change there's someone not happy with it [wink]

So very true :-)

Maybe I should make it an option.

The colour is still changing when I press the shift key to enter a pencil mark, I know I am in pencil mode because I have have pressed shift, so having the colour change does not serve any purpose, it just makes it very difficult for me to see. There are probably other users with a visual impairment, and perhaps others are not having any difficulty with the colour changing as they type, but for me this small change is making it unusable.

The colour change is there for consistency
(i.e. double feedback that you're entering guesses).

I can look at coding an exception for your account?
(that'd be quicker than making it a configurable option)

Patrick

I share michaele's preferences. My pressing the Shift key and the size of the pencil marks appearing on the screen are immediate and sufficient reminders that I'm in pencil mode. And on my system (Firefox, Windows, laptop) the green highlighting is like a "flicker", a slight visual disturbance that makes me look away from the screen when entering pencil marks. So I'd welcome it if it became a configurable option or if you could make exceptions for individual accounts. In my case it's certainly not urgent, though [smile]

Yes, the green highlighting for the shift key didn't really add anything, I changed it back to what it was.
