I remember the quote from the very first post in this thread:

This would be a lot simpler with an annualised ranking. And that would be rather straightforward to implement

My apologies.
I have a tendency to overthink things.

I think having an annualised ranking is a good idea. But it would be even better if this could be done under each ranking category. Is this something that would be achievable, or would it require a huge amount of additional work?

At present, only 7 day and all time rankings are available under most categories, but you can also get 30 day rankings under the all puzzle category and a modified year to date ranking, also under the all category.

What about the dozen or more user submitted and special, one-off puzzles?

Beaker,
In my year to date totals, this is what is being included:
All the dailies since Jan 1, all the extras since Jan 1, and all the bonus puzzles since Jan 1.

I have not submitted a book puzzle, yet. I believe Patrick has removed that option for 2019.
I have been doing timed puzzles but have not received year to date points for them.

It seems that there is a bug in calculating the Year-To-Date score. The score calculated for me was perfect till I completed an extra from last year. This reset my Year-To-Date score to zero ranking me at the bottom. I next competed some of today's regulars and the scorecard started accounting for these. I did one more extra from last year and that too had the same effect on the score. I will send you some screenshots of the scorecards.

Just to clarify - are book puzzles being included in the year to date rankings?

No, they're not. I should add a note to the table stating this.

edit: and the code for submitting book puzzles still added the points to the year-to-date total.. [bored]

fixed now
