I’m pretty sure my math is off, anyway! It’s just a question of how far off it is. But more subscribers would definitely accelerate things.

I, for one, would not like a 20 x 20 puzzle.........I suppose you could let whom ever is the closest to the time of the 20 millionth puzzle decide what puzzle to suggest [biggrin]........if it were me, I would suggest a twin 10 x 10 which might be designed so that you would not be able to solve one without having to solve the other or a twin no-op 10 x 10 using numbers 1 - 10 [thumbsup]

Just wondering have you considered having a FaceBook page? If so, what made you decide not to have one?

Hey everybody, Happy New Year! I've come up with the following suggestions regarding puzzle number 20 million:

1) I agree with beaker in letting whoever guesses closest decide what "celebratory" puzzle to have.

2) Another option is to let whoever actually SOLVES puzzle number 20 million decide on the puzzle.

3) Everybody here could be offered a chance to vote on which puzzles they'd like. My reasoning is given below:

Because *everybody* ultimately had a part in helping calcudoku.org get to 20 million puzzles solved, I think *everybody* should have a say in what puzzle(s) they'd like (or not). For instance, fzpowerman may want a 20x20 puzzle whereas beaker would not. On the other hand, beaker would like to see a 10x10 no-op twin whereas fzpowerman may or may not. By offering a variety of puzzles to everybody (subscribers and non-subscribers alike), any given person can solve those puzzles that they enjoy and skip those that they don't. I, for example, might be able to handle a 10x10 no-op twin. A 20x20 modulo or 20x20 subtraction only puzzle? Ehhhhhhh..... I think I'll skip those! By having a large number of people take a vote, it's less likely for any given solver to feel left out versus a "my way or the highway" single-person decision.

At the end of the day, though, I leave the final decision to Patrick - calcudoku.org is HIS website, after all. Anyhow, good luck to everybody who guessed a time and have a great night.

I used to have some Facebook integration in the past, which was a nightmare to maintain.

Personally, I think a 20x20 would be an interesting challenge. We need to be stretched from time to time.

I enjoy doing the daily puzzles, but it’s cracking the difficult ones that provides the most satisfaction.

Why not inserting some advertisement in different places (New York Times :-), specialized puzzle magazines ... )? as a gentle challenge to all related sites in the world to achieve 20 million solutions, ... (with a link to calcudoku.org of course).

In the other hand, and considering that for this year the 20 x 20 puzzle is the decided "gift" for the event, my particular impression is that 20 points looks like small prize (25 points were given to the Christmas puzzles in the past, for instance, with probably less difficulty).
