Thanks Guido, very helpful comments [thumbsup]

You're right in that the ad blocker policy is a bit strict: once you've scored over 1000 points
and you're still using an ad blocker, the puzzles disappear completely. Maybe I should relax that a bit.

correction: puzzles larger than 6x6 disappear. I have now changed this to puzzles larger than 9x9.

A nice new feature would be a build-in calculator: The user drags a rectangle and the sites shows the area's and the sum, like:

That would be a cool feature.

Will there at some point be too much solving help though?

I vote no. One of the reasons I spend time on this site is to practice doing arithmetic in my head and this would make it too easy.

Buttons need tool-tips (just title attribute in the html tag) don't design them like windows buttons with round borders and dropshadows.

Ok, thanks, tooltips are in place, now I just have a lot of translating to do ... [blink]

edit: translated the tool tips with some help from Google translate [lol]
I'll especially appreciate feedback from Japanese/Chinese/Turkish speakers about the correctness of the text
(no idea for these [bored] )

If the buttons should not have rounded corners and drop shadows, what should they have?

And do people maybe have pointers to sites/apps that do it better?

in terms of design and/or UI ?

Other suggestion, throw a small party when a user finishes a puzzle. I made this once, and students (15 yo - 18 yo) think it's silly but still like it:

https://guidogeeftles.nl/modules/rekenenmetverhoudingen/ (complete a puzzle to see the effects - only available in Dutch) (too lazy to do the puzzle, use the hints bar all the way and fill in the right answer)

edit: ok, the "solved box" is _slightly_ more exciting now [biggrin]

Confetti guns for more difficult piuzzles ( you could set a lowest difficulty rating......say 45-50 which when a puzzle solved exceeded would then get confetti gun or small fireworks going off)i
