Post Purple cells
When I found a number in a certain position without any doubt, I use to mark it in bold by pressing the button with the full stop and the colon punctuation.
As soon as the number is bolded, the cell is filled with the green color. I think this is well known by everybody.

This afternoon I pressed the button next to it, the one with the comma and the semicolon, and the cell was filled with the purple color. The button doesn't change the status of the number (bolded/not bolded/pencil), just colors the cell. I hadn't ever seen this before now.
Does anybody know this feature? Is it for a specific use?

Thanks for explanation!

EDIT: it is a "dark pink", it' isn't purple...

For the video I did today (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZPM3UvecQ8) I figured
it might be useful to have another way to mark cells,
so I added thie (very lightweight) feature to toggle a colour using the "comma key".

I'm amazed at how quickly someone already accidentally pressed it :-)

I ended up not using it very much in the video,
but that's more a matter of planning ahead I think.

I could highlight a set of cells, for example, and then cut the "key presses" to get there,
so the highlighted cells show up right away.

I think it could be very useful (at least for me) when I need to sum the total of 3 or more rows (or columns) in big puzzles, in order to determine the value of one or more cells, because sometimes if I make the calculation in one way I get a result, and in another way, to check the result, I get another result, and this is very annoying.
With this feature, I can highlight the cells as soon as I sum them and it will be easier to get the rest I'm looking for.

I hope I was enough clear :-)

In fact I would vote to remove this feature. It is most annoying :)

Yes, that's maybe the best.

edit: it should be disabled now

(unless many people now suddenly start writing they use the feature.. [mellow] )

Nooo! It was very useful to me! [scared]

Could you couple the feature with another key?

I also use that feature pretty extensively and would be sad to see it go permanently.
