Post Random generated puzzles?
Greetings,

Is it me or are puzzles with these patterns more likely then others?

4x4 is extreme, bigger puzzles tend to have the same pattern, just partially. I notice that whenever I'm stuck and I guess this pattern, it's right.

This does not work for the killers and sudoku's of course.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Guido.

hi Guido,

I'll run some stats on the puzzle database to see if there's any truth to this [confused]

Todays easy 5x5:

2's and 4's all the way, some same pattern over the edge. One set of 1's in the other direction.

There's only 18 unique "patterns" for a 4x4, right? That was fairly quick math and I haven't done any math like that in like 7 years but I think that captures every option. So if you consider both sets of diagonals as correct, that makes 2/18 options correct, which is definitely enough to appear common without any funkiness to the distribution.
