That was fun - compelling in its simplicity. I'm sorry I don't have a reddit account to upvote it.

I couldn't quite tell if I'd "finished". I assume that if I can't move any more then I'm done? I used ctrl+R to start over.

Also, I initially figured it was mouse controlled. nbd - just an observation.

Yes, sorry about the lack of UI feedback,
it's a test page, so I didn't bother with any explanatory text, etc.

all part of the puzzle :-)

I moved the puzzle to this domain:

www.hexagrid.net

and added some info + a high score list.

my highest so far (not in that list) is 122 [unsure]

my new high score is 144 [love]

I'm seeing wjgjr at the top now with 167, followed by jpoos at 165 [woot]

nailhouse has 155, kozibrada 143.

New minor feature: when the puzzle ends, the sphere will start spinning for a while,
potentially showing you places you've missed..

My first tries resulted in negative scores. These didn't show up in the high score list, luckily.

Some luck seems to be involved in this puzzle, as you have to take decisions while you can't see all the tiles. I would think that high scores become close together; as the highest possible score is determined. It is possible to come close to that score with only little strategy.

A suggestion: is it possible to include a function: undo the last move? As I still have some problems with the controls.

Uuhhmm, i just got a 166 (didn't submit it), but it should have been 169 since I missed a free blue hexagon and I messed up locking myself at the end, taking 2 unnecessary yellow blocks... I'll keep going for a bit to see if I can get it again.
I'm pretty confident you can't much higher than 170; I'd guess that 175 would be an absolute maximum with perfect strategy.

I also tried to get the lowest score, only finding out after that negative scores don't get submitted (i got -153 [thumbsup] )

Nah, that'd make it too easy [tongue]

negative scores are now accepted.

submissions are logged, so I could regenerate the high score table to include these (I see you in fact got -157 (!))

I just put in a -121 [smile]

My new high is 150 [love]

And I did make a mistake here and there.

But how to get 167 ... [scared]

Just wondering... Is the puzzle the result of a certain real-life mathematical problem?
