It can be -4, but only if -4 is the target result of the cage.

(so in that case it would have "-4-" as the clue)

@jpassaro: subtraction in a n-multicell cage is: take one of the cells, and subtract the other ones from it. So you have n solutions.
For instance in a 3-cell cage there are 3 solutions: a - (b + c) or b - (a + c) or c - (a + b)

"4-" is to be read as: the outcome is 4, en the way to do is '-'. You might put a comma in between as well: "4,-"
