this is an off the cuff critique.

Please take it with a grain of salt.

No worries, this is useful feedback.

For a "dark mode" there are many colours to pick, and it is not easy to get them all "spot on".

So I'll definitely look at this. Maybe there is room for more than two "colour modes" ("themes" rather).

I played a few puzzles in dark mode.

I don't know if you changed colors schemes while I was puzzling, but I thought the KS puzzles used white to delineate the cages. Now when I go back to those puzzles, it it pink.

I liked the white for cages as it seemed to contrast with any other color

I think the blue would work the 9 x 9 squares of the KS puzzles.

Good stuff.

Some feedback from a mobile user: it seems several colors in normal mode have disappeared. I think this may be related to the dark mode update.

The green background color of the menu bar is missing, making it hard to read the date on the right.

Also, the 'Last saved' banner used to have a background color as well if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the feedback [thumbup]

I should put that green background back, thanks, forgot about it.
(and then it can be a shade darker in dark mode, as it is now on the main page).

Yes, 'last saved at' had a background (the one that appears after you hit 'Save'), I removed it,
should it return?

I'm not particularly attached to the saved banner, just wasn't sure if the change was intentional.

ok, thanks [smile]

The "puzzle menu bar" on mobile should be fixed now

(hoping I did not introduce new colouring errors along the way [scared] )

I would like to use dark mode but I find it difficult to make out penciled in numbers, could they be made brighter?

Just to confirm, the "12 34 12 34 34" in this image ?

(also to confirm that they look like this on your screen)

Perhaps make the penciled-in numbers a different color?
