 finally a "dark mode"
It took some plumbing and rewriting and testing, but the site should now have a functional dark mode [woot]

Click the icon near the bottom left of the page:

It is likely there are some glitches / misses here and there,
so scream if you find them [blink] [scared]

(the other pages should respect the 'dark mode' setting as well for example)
(in other words, I still need to add this [huh] )

Love it [love] [thumbsup] [namaste]

Just solved my first 12x12 in dark mode (completed it a little past 9 PM CET). Much less strain on the eyes, felt like things stood out more clearly [thumbup]

Good to hear [thumbup]

I much prefer dark mode as well, and have it enabled wherever it's available.

Thanks Patrick! That’s great for when I wake up in the middle of the night, can’t get back to sleep and want to get back onto the site to do some puzzles, but don’t want to wake up my wife.

And that is an accurate representation of how my sleep pattern works, in case anyone thinks I am being facetious. Seriously! [scared]

I don't know if it's related, but the error highlighting for groups seems to be broken for light mode now

The pencil indicator no longer works in daylight mode either.

ah, thanks.

someone had already reported it, and I thought I had fixed it, but it turns
out it is fixed _only_ when you use the onscreen buttons,
but not when you use the keyboard [mellow] [mellow]

edit: strangely enough, it seems using the pencil toggle and then the keyboard never worked [huh]
edit 2: ^ that should work now too (but I'm guessing no-one really use it that way, but it's nice for consistency)
edit 3: reverted the above change after puzzler complaint [scared]

_maybe_ by "pencil indicator" you mean the active cell turning green?
(if so, then yes, that still has to be fixed)

I’m using an iPad, and the pencil indicator doesn’t work in night mode either, by the way.

A nice addition.
Bold in non dark mode turns green, in dark mode no change to the cell?
