Re: Timed Puzzles
I'm 58 and I also don't have the speed I had at a younger age.

I'm 42, by the way (looking for a smiley that reflects this, can't find it : - ) I only ever got 15 responses out of it, and 2 of them were from people who don't work the timed puzzles. I'm going to go bump the survey now to see if I can get a few more people to do it, but I don't think a high enough percentage of people check the forums to get sufficient data out of it.

jomapil wrote: Another thing related with the ages: With the time required to do all the puzzles of a day, for the most part the puzzlers must be retired ( with of course some exceptions )! Wow, I didn't realize so many players are 60 and above! Perhaps being retired is a factor to who is regularly on the site and doing all the puzzles. As for those who aren't retired and still do all the puzzles (like some of us younger people), it's probably not as bad for time because we have the age in our favour and so it doesn't take as long to do the puzzles. Like, consider 4x4s, 5x5s, and 6x6s. So if it takes ~10 secs for a 4x4, ~30 secs for a 5x5, and ~1 min for a 6x6, it only takes 5 minutes to do all the puzzles up to 6x6 hard. I don't really know how long it takes me to do the bigger puzzles, but I'm sure on some "easy" days it definitely doesn't take more than half an hour to do all the puzzles.

Re: Timed Puzzles
OMG!!! A 1/2 hour to do all the puzzles most days.....takes me at least 2 hours most days and when a 12x12 comes up, then add another 2 hours!!

Re: Timed Puzzles
Can't do mod puzzles so it took me 1 hr and 20 min. to finally figure it out and it took 40 minutes to do the smaller puzzles plus the timed ones and now I'm left with the difficult 6x6, 9x9, 8x8 (medium) and the 12 x12; therefore it will take another 3-4 hours to try to solve the rest (if I can solve the rest)......I guess I should revise above statement to >3 hours/day
But at 67 and not a lot to do today due to the weather......not a big deal.

Re: Timed Puzzles
Not retired, just a college student who doesn't listen in most of his classes.
That's why when they force me to listen, my number of puzzles done drops a lot.
I'm going to go do all the puzzles and keep a running timer now.

Re: Timed Puzzles
Yeah, I guess I wouldn't be doing all the puzzles everyday if it took a few hours. Only happy retired people have that kind of time!
