Sometimes I think that bonus puzzle makes too much of a difference. I mean, I have done so many bonus puzzles that it's almost impossible for me to get at the top of the rankings now because I'm always 30-40 points short from less bonus puzzles. Others will be able to make those extra 30-40 points from bonus puzzles each week for a long long time because it goes up really slowly for subscribers. I don't like it as I think it's not very fair...

I suppose you're right.

Prob. better to switch to (1) fewer bonus puzzles, (2) same points difference for everyone
(but prob. keep the subscriber/non-subscriber difference)

I'd like that. Same difference for all subscribers, more for non-subscribers! But what do other people think? Patrick loves to please me. Mwahaha...

Right now the first "bonus target" (when you've just signed up) is 25 points.

So maybe it could be a sequence like this:

25 - 50 - 100 - 200 - 400 - 500

after which it stays at 500 points.

For subscribers it could be:

20 - 40 - 80 - 160 - 320 - 400

?

You mean just for the first 6 bonus puzzles?

Yes, after that the "delta" would stay at 500/400

Thank you Patrick. I did not take into account an extra 12 x 12. I'm sorry if I caused you extra work.

No problem.
You made me update an internal page that shows the points breakdown
of an individual user, so that was useful :-)
