No num-pad for me.
For navigation the 4 separate cursor keys and the num-keys above 'qweryt'.
The num-keys with 1 finger, I'll try to use more fingers.

I'm not able to type blind and use the 'two fingers' style: 240 in English and 290 in native language.

Ok, I got 529 on that test. But that's a weird test... for one, you're typing unrelated words so it's not like a sentence which is faster, and also I had to pause every time when it was changing to another set of words (or the next page). Another question I have: do people like Sheldolina and starling use the num pad?

Yeah, I wonder what hopingcc's age is. I'm 30.

Yeah, I got 267 on it, but having done tests like this before (What I meant earlier was I'd never had my phone texting speed measured, I just know I'm fast compared to most of my friends), I'm almost twice as fast typing coherent sentences. As in my wpm jumps from the 60 I had there to 110 on average with sentences, but I'm slower typing into a phone by a bit.

In terms of finger placement, I put index through pinky fingers of my left hand on the numbers 1-4 above the qwerty keys, and the index through ring fingers of my right hand on the arrow keys. I don't feel comfortable with the number pad for some reason, so yeah...

And yeah, that puts you among the younger solvers as well, I'd expect.

I never use the numpad. On the 4x4, I keep my left hand fingers on the 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the left side of the keyboard and use my right hand for the arrow keys. I'm 13, by the way.

Ok, I wasn't sure about the num pad because I'm on a laptop and I don't have the numpad. Was just wondering if it would be faster if you were good at using it.

Like everyone else seems to do, I use the 1-4 numbers with my left hand, but for the higher numbers I tend to use my pinkie for 5 and up. It might explain my faster times on the 6x6.

I ALMOST broke my personal 4x4 record today. And I STILL don't know how I did it, lol.

Lost in this is that I posted a 6.1 second 4x4 and came in second on the day.

I know. I hadn't expected to beat 6.1 yesterday...

Embarrassing... yesterday my best time on a 6x6 was over 3min 40s
Yet, I got 1 point, as I ended up as number 18 - no one else did any worse, but only 17 people finished a 6x6 timed puzzle.

What about introducing another limit, by giving points only to the best 75%?
So if only 4 people complete a timed puzzle, they'll get 5, 4, 3, and 0 points. And number 18 only gets points if at least 24 people complete a timed puzzle (and by rounding off mildly, number 20 will get 1 point only if at least 26 people complete a puzzle that day).
