Re: Older users
I'm 64 1/2 so I don't quite meet the criteria I try to keep my puzzling to 1 1/2 or 2 hours a day. Since I have no pride, I'm ok with trial and error if I think I'm within 1 or 2 guesses of finishing.

Re: Older users
I'm over 65. I used to go for all the puzzles everyday, but now I stick to the larger (more interesting) puzzles.

Yeah... for some reason, I have a TON of trouble getting anywhere in the 9x9's but I have solved the last couple of 10x10's and 12x12's Also, I'm 13 years old maybe a little younger than you were gong for...

Re: Older users
In general, the Tues 9 x 9s are the hardest puzzle for the week. In my opinion, there are different tricks / strategies for the different patterns.
There are times when a 6 x 6 (patterned) stymies me, but the 12 X 12 is easy - just longer.
I found that doing the tricky puzzle books gave me a great deal of practice on patterned 5 x 5s and 6 x 6s.
There is one specific pattern of the 9 x 9 that I still have not worked out. I am stuck on that pattern in a couple of the books.

Re: Older users
I hope to reach a million points before I turn 65... considering I'm 19 My dad though, who started this account and still solves puzzles when he notices I haven't yet, is 61. Since my main concern is solving puzzles as quickly as possible, I use trial and error quite a bit, as it tends to be faster if you can type decently fast. On days with no really difficult puzzles (like patterned 9x9's or 15x15's), I can solve everything in 45 minutes or less (my record is about 30 minutes). On average, I think I'll solve everything in about 1-1.5 hours.

Re: Older users
With your times, of course you're 19. But even for 19 your abilities are astounding. I'm 69.

Ditto... I'm starting to get better with the 6x6's but I can never get anywhere with the 9x9's. I've solved the last couple 12x12's too

For you, "decently fast" is a bit of an understatement

For you, "decently fast" is a bit of an understatement I meant to say that it's probably faster to use trial and error for anyone who can type decently fast.
