Post timed puzzle timer starts at 0:01
In the last couple of days, I noticed that my timed puzzle timer always started at 0:01 instead of 0:00, which makes especially my 4*4 times a lot slower than they really are.
Has this error something to do with bad internet access, or is it something that can be fixed?

It's odd, it's something that seems to be consistently happening, I'll investigate.

Are other people seeing this too?

It seems to happen sometimes, but my times are so slow that 1 second generally doesn't make much difference to where I finish.

I haven't noticed anything unusual. I think I had a 3.8 second time on a 4x4 yesterday, which definitely didn't feel any faster.

Am always impressed with your times.......I cannot fathom or even understand how you can do all the key strokes to complete a 4x4 in 3.8 seconds........truly an awesome brain/muscle coordination!!!!!!

It probably takes my eyes and brain to register that there is a new puzzle on the screen!!!

It seems to be a quite strange error: it doesn't matter if the page load time is very short or very long, the timer always starts at 0:01.

I see your "forum flag" is Portuguese, and the "puzzle flag" is Dutch,
should I update the forum flag?

I think it's been a feature/bug of all times.

The timer above the puzzle is updated every half second.

Only at the first update the puzzle is shown, so you always lose half a second at the start (!)
This means that if you're handy with javascript, you could've hacked the page so you don't lose that first half second.

Because of rounding issues, the gap between shown seconds can be half a second (I recorded video of the process,
and noted the times when the load is started, puzzle becomes visible, & seconds change for the first 10 seconds).

I've changed it now so the puzzle becomes visible as soon as possible, and the timer is updated 4 times a second.

I'll make the change at midnight tonight (to make sure the change happens at the same time for everyone).

edit: forgot yesterday [blush] , will try for this evening (Fri -> Sat)

I just had a go at the timed puzzles for today.
My times felt a bit faster than they were supposed to be, though maybe my fingers were a bit faster than usual.
Did others feel the same way?

The change worked, I now always start as the 0:00 changes in the 0:01, which is quite an improvement.
If it doesn't take too much effort, I would like to have a Dutch forum flag :-)
Thanks a lot for all the time you spent helping a non-subscriber! [namaste]
