Congratulations ineedaname! [thumbsup] But less of the referring to yourself as old, please. You're a lot younger than I am!

Thanks guys, Yes I'm definitely not old compared to a few on this site, It's great that people of all ages can get something from the site though. Hopefully I'm still able to complete the puzzles when i reach my 70's. It sure gets the old brain cells working overtime some days that's for sure but I remember when I started out & the 5x5 was all I could do & then slowly moved onto 6's & finally got the hang of them (Thanks mainly to the forum posts in the strategy section) to the 10's (I love the Friday 10x10 & mainly did it before moving onto the harder ones) & have only recently started giving the 12x12 a good crack & can get them out most weeks but I haven't really had a good crack at the 15x15 , Way too scary still hahahahahaha & I reckon that'd take me a month to get through.

First, congratulations on reaching 100k!
I love the Friday 10x10, too. The symmetry of it, and the way it tends to fill in from the top and bottom converging in the middle is surprisingly compelling.
I stopped doing the KS and 15x15 a while ago, just due to time commitments. But in spite of that I want to encourage you to try a 15x15 some time. They do take longer to solve, obviously, but are not actually that much harder than other smaller puzzles. In fact they are often a little easier in that there are more places from which to approach it.
The hardest part for me was remembering that there are more factors in play. You get so used to a 45x cage being 5,9 that you can overlook that 3,15 is also an option; 42x can be 6,7 but also 3,14; etc.
And just think. If you start solving 15x15s regularly then you'll reach 200K a few months earlier than you would have otherwise. :-)
Again, congratulations.

I too seldom do the 15x15........I invariably make some mistake and not realize it until later in puzzle and over an hour has "gone down the drain"........due to your encouragement I will look at the next one [smile] ........but how about today's -3 to +3........these DO represent a challenge I think!!

I agree with Jaek.

In general, I do not find the larger puzzles any more difficult. They are longer. But they are fun and worth a good number of points.

Hmmm food for thought on the 15x15, I think one of the reasons I've never had a real crack as last time I looked at one I couldn't fit it on the screen to see the whole puzzle but I may go back & play around with sizing to see how I go. Agree on the trying to remember extra divisors as I regularly do it on 12x12 also with 24x I totally forget 2x2 & 3: I forget 4/12. Beaker - Living Down Under we always feel on top of the World LOL I'm usually not to bad on the -3 - +3 ones, Can get stuck from time to time but in general not too bad.

I had the same problem and resolved it by pressing the size button twice. When you do this, you can see the entire puzzle, but it's fairly squished, with the bottom row about 6 times as tall as the other rows, which looks weird. As you enter numbers, this will gradually even out, provided you bold the numbers you enter. Without doing this, it will remain squished.

As others have said, the 15x15 is not necessarily any more difficult than smaller puzzles, it just takes a lot longer as there are so many more cells to fill and so many more possible combinations in the various cages. It can be particularly easy to overlook some of these combinations in the multiplication cages (for example, 6x14 as an alternative to 7x12 and 3x15 as an alternative to 5x9).
